Life Restored
We’re so glad you are here! Thanks for checking out Sunday's message!
-- SUNDAY'S NOTES --
But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel, whose origins are in the distant past, will come from you on my behalf. Micah 5:2 NLT
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10 NLT
1. Make the choice to die to self.
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Galatians 5:24 NLT
Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” Mark 14:36 NLT
The curse from the garden of Eden was broken in the garden of Gethsemane.
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 ESV
2. Live Faithfully Devoted to Jesus
Saturday evening, when the Sabbath ended, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome went out and purchased burial spices so they could anoint Jesus’ body. Very early on Sunday morning, just at sunrise, they went to the tomb. Mark 16:1-2 NLT
On the way they were asking each other, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?” Mark 16:3 NLT
Choosing faithfulness even when your faith is struggling will set you up to see a miracle.
But as they arrived, they looked up and saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled aside. Mark 16:4 NLT
Jesus will handle the heavy lifting if you will faithfully follow Him.
The power is not found in our devotion but in the one to whom we are devoted.
3) Walk with Jesus
True life is only found in Jesus.
Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. 1 John 5:12 ESV
A funeral procession was coming out as he approached the village gate. The young man who had died was a widow’s only son, and a large crowd from the village was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart overflowed with compassion. “Don’t cry!” he said. Then he walked over to the coffin and touched it, and the bearers stopped. “Young man,” he said, “I tell you, get up.” Then the dead boy sat up and began to talk! And Jesus gave him back to his mother. Luke 7:11-15 NLT
If the bearers of brokenness are carrying you to a godless worldly grave, call on Jesus and be saved!
Suddenly, there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it. His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow. The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint. Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. Matthew 28:2-6 NLT
The impacts of this fallen world are real, but never to much for the love and life of our risen Savior.
