Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:9-10 ESV

He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son. Colossians 1:13 ESV

A decision to live in the Kingdom of God is a decision to reject the kingdom of this world.

I am not praying that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. John 17:15-18 CSB

Serve the LORD alone. But if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:11-15 NLT

The only path to real freedom, promise and purpose is in choosing wholeheartedly the Kingdom of God!

You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us” James 4:4-5 NLT

You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil, the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else. But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved! Ephesians 2:2-5 NLT

You can’t worship idols and Abba at the same time, and you can’t choose to live in two opposing Kingdoms.

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 ESV

Darkness isn’t merely immoral behavior, It is living under the influence of the wrong culture and kingdom.

Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is! “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money. Matthews 6:22-24 NLT

Don’t love the world’s ways. Don’t love the world’s goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. Practically everything that goes on in the world, wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important, has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from him. The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out, but whoever does what God says is set for eternity. 1 John 2:15-17 MSG

The worst darkness is the darkness we think is right, light!

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. Matthew 6:33 CSB

Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did. 1 John 2:6 CSB

So Joshua addressed the people: “You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen GOD for yourselves to worship him.” And they said, “We are witnesses.” Joshua said, “Now get rid of all the foreign gods you have with you. Say an unqualified Yes to GOD, the God of Israel.” Joshua 24:22-24 MSG
