Right side up Kingdom

We’re so glad you are here! Thanks for checking out Sunday's message!

-- SUNDAY'S NOTES --

Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. Matthew 6:33 CSB

We’re called to live right side up in an upside down world.

You have heard that it was said, Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven. For he causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. Matthew 5:43-45 NLT

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Matthew 5:7 CSB

God’s Kingdom may look upside down, but it’s actually the right and restored way life is meant to live.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs. Matthew 5:3 CSB

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4 CSB

O

wnership of actions that leads to repentance, releases God’s restoration.

Failure that looks like an end to the world, is a doorway for deliverance and breakthrough to God!

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Matthew 5:5 ESV

Rather than pursuing selfish ambition, the meek aggressively pursue God’s heart and mission.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Matthew 5:6 CSB

Righteousness is a gift we cannot earn and yet it’s pursuit opens the heart to grace and goodness of God.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Matthew 5:8 CSB

God cares about your heart not your public image or persona!

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Matthew 5:9 CSB

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs. Matt. 5:10 CSB

Jesus began to point out to his disciples that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, be killed, and be raised the third day. Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, “Oh no, Lord! This will never happen to you! ” Jesus turned and told Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me because you’re not thinking about God’s concerns but human concerns.” Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of me will find it. Matthew 16:21-25 NLT

When we fix our eyes on Jesus, His Kingdom, with all it’s virtues, attributes and attitudes, comes clearly into focus.

Be The Kingdom - Poem

The dark-side of the downside

It doesn’t come with an upside

Such is the current Kingdom of this world.

The me-centered mindset

With expectations never met

Certainly not the promised priceless pearl.

But the Kingdom of Heaven

With the power of Leaven

Changes both how we think and act.

With an attitude of gratitude

And the gift of grace to follow through

The heart will heal and change, that’s a fact.

Blessed are those who see their need

Who mourn rebellion and now live freed

Who are merciful to self and others along the way.

Who hunger and thirst for God’s will

The one’s He with His goodness fills

The pure in heart who see Him day by day.

Who have made peace with God and man

Who, for righteousness sake, make their stand

Blessed by the one whose love will never fade.
