Practically Centered

We’re so glad you are here! Thanks for checking out Sunday's message!

-- SUNDAY'S NOTES --

If we are content to have Jesus at the edges of our lives, we are in danger of missing having Him there at all.

Psalm 103:2 NIV Praise the Lord, my soul,

and forget not all his benefits.

One key to keeping Jesus at the center is remembering that every truly good thing in my life has been because of Him.

Psalm 119:89-96 NIV

Your word, Lord, is eternal;

it stands firm in the heavens.

Your faithfulness continues through all generations;

you established the earth, and it endures.

Your laws endure to this day,

for all things serve you.

If your law had not been my delight,

I would have perished in my affliction.

I will never forget your precepts,

for by them you have preserved my life.

Save me, for I am yours;

I have sought out your precepts.

The wicked are waiting to destroy me,

but I will ponder your statutes.

To all perfection I see a limit,

but your commands are boundless.

John 6:67 TPT So Jesus said to his twelve, “And you—do you also want to leave?”

John 6:68 TPT Peter spoke up and said, “But Lord, where would we go? No one but you gives us the revelation of eternal life.

Hebrews 4:12 NIV For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

God’s Word and His commands are perfect, powerful, and life-preserving.

Matthew 22:37 NIV Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’

Isaiah26:3 ESV

You keep him in perfect peace

whose mind is stayed on you,

because he trusts in you.

Jesus died to have relationship with you. He isn’t holding back from you now!

These need to come up one at a time as I am talking about them, until all 3 are up there:

Worship

The Word

Listening

Centered on Christ

Wouldn’t it be nice

To not have to live here and there?

But how can we live

In the peace that he gives

And the love that he asks us to share?

I’ll focus on him

That’s the way to win

The battle that goes on in my mind

I’ll remember his deeds

How he’s filled all my needs

Instead of continuing to whine

God’s word is so true

He has great plans for you

And for me and for those that we love

So let’s look to Jesus

Who’s sworn never to leave us

And live our lives with our eyes fixed above

Jesus wants to be at the center of your life because he knows that’s where he can change everything!
