Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

1. Trust in the Lord

Tendency: To question His character
Invitation: To trust that He is good and is working good

2. Train your heart
Proverbs 3:5a Trust in the Lord with all your heart
Tendency: Trust in our feelings
Invitation: Train and test our hearts to align with His desires

Mark 12:30
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all
your mind and with all your strength.

Jeremiah 17:9a
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure

3. Lean
Proverbs 3:5b
And lean not on your own understanding;
Tendency: To place my trust in untrustworthy things
Invitation: Submit to His wisdom and omnipotence

MY Understanding
Tendency: To trust what I know
Invitation: To experience supernatural wisdom

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but
to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

4. In All Your Ways
Proverbs 3:6
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
Tendency: We trust Him once
Invitation: To grow our faith

5. He will make your paths straight
Proverbs 3:6
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
Tendency: To assume that bumpy roads are not God’s will
Invitation: Trust His direction because of His character

It’s not ease that is an indicator of God’s favor and presence, it’s His peace.
