READY FOR A MOVE OF GOD

Here at 828 Church we believe in making space for people to find Jesus and find family. Although we have loved our current location, we’ve known for sometime the Lord was challenging us to steps of faith that would expand our reach and impact in our city. In an answer to the very prayers He called us to pray Jesus has given us the opportunity to move our main location into a beautifully renovated space at 1930 Castle Hayne Road.

The Investment
Our target is to move into the new space and have our first service on March 5, 2023 and we are trying to raise $200,000 and have an opportunity for a matching donation 2 to 1 up to $250,000 so your gift will make a multiplied impact.

The Effort
Even if you aren’t able to contribute significantly to the financial need for this move, know that we need many hands and hearts to help make it happen.  Although the building is usable as is, we still want to give it our 828 Church personal touch, so if you're interested in being a part of cleaning, painting, or are capable of helping with some other minor handy man projects - please fill out our contact form!

The Spirit
Join us in prayer over this move. Physical needs are important but leading with connection with God through prayer and fasting is imperative. We will be having a season of 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting in January 2023 and will have periodic prayer meetings at the new facility before launch.

  • When are we going to move/have our first service there?
We are goaling to have our first service in the new space on March 5, 2023. We are moving items and testing and setting up and could use many hands and hearts!
  • Did we buy the shopping center?
No, not yet. But that may be in the future. We are going to be leasing from Cape Fear Plaza.
  • What will happen to our old building?
We will be released from the current lease as soon as the landlord is able to secure another tenant.
  • What is special about the new space?
Most of all- there is space to grow. There is a fully fitted cafe, large lobby, dedicated kids'/youth space with AV equipment and state of the art sound and video tech in the worship center.
  • Will we be changing service times?
 The current plan is to keep 9 and 11am service times.
  • Where is it?
Cape Fear Plaza is a stone's throw from the airport! Castle Hayne Road is in the 28401 zip code and there are many new developments and housing units being built. We believe that God is calling us to serve this area of our city where there are not a ton of new school but old school soul churches.
  • How big is it?
The new space is over 12000 sq feet. The worship center is 1/3 bigger than our current worship center, fitting over 100 more chairs per service, making space for those without a church home.
