An Identity Anchored in Christ

Since the fall we have suffered from an Identity crisis and the illness of Insecurity that comes with it.

You will never know who you are, until you know who you are in him.

You are New

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 ESV

His mercies are new every morning. Lamentations 3:23 ESV

His mercies are new every morning and it’s always morning somewhere in the world.

You are Known

The very hairs on your head are all numbered. Luke 12:7 NLT

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27 ESV

The one who knows me best, loves me most.

But you, O Lord, know me; you see me, and test my heart toward you. Jeremiah 12:3 ESV

You are Home

Jesus is the only who can provide a real home for your heart.

So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone. Ephesians 2:19-20 ESV

We are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith… Hebrews 12:1 NLT

You are His

To all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12-13 ESV

For you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
1 Peter 2:9 ESV

You are the chosen child of the caring loving King of the creation!

But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. You are loved

You can have the best of everything earth has to offer but it won’t be enough until you know who you are in Him.
