Man at the Pool

Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish festivals. Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. John 5:1-2 NIV

In these lay a multitude of invalids, blind, lame, and paralyzed. One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. John 5:3-4 ESV

Mercy without the Messiah can bring temporal comfort but not real healing and transformation.

Worth is measured by what someone is willing to pay!

You were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

1 Corinthians 6:20 NKJV

When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be healed?” John 5:5 ESV

Jesus knows and cares about you and your challenges!

The question is not how did you get broken, but do you want to be made whole?

The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me.” John 5:6 ESV

If you focus on your problems you’re likely to miss your provision!

The victim mentality might be a legit argument against destiny and freedom if it wasn’t for Jesus.

Jesus said to him, “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.” John 5:8 ESV

And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked. John 5:9 ESV

Jesus is here to speak healing to the most bound and broken places in your heart and life!

Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “See, you are well! Sin no more, that nothing worse may happen to you.” John 5:14 ESV
