-- SUNDAY'S NOTES --

Together - As Family

Ephesians 2:19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God

Matthew 12:48-50 But he replied to the man who told him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

Fight like Family

Fight for each other, not against each other

Mark 3:25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.

Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

Matthew 18:15-17 If your brother sins against you, go and confront him privately. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, regard him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Forgive like Family

Ephesians 4:32 ESV Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

“We need to stop making what people did to us bigger than what Jesus did for us.” — Christine Caine

Do not let your hurt become larger than your hope.

Do not let offense become louder than grace.

- Even more than expecting everyone to act right, Determine to be unoffendable

- If you’re looking for something to be offended about, you’ll find it 1

● 7 x 70

John 13:35 NLT Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.

Feast like Family

Acts 2:44 NLT And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had

Come to the table, Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, Hebrews 10:25

Jesus led the way for us - fought for us, forgives us, prepares a feast for us.

Matthew 26:26-29 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.

1 Cor 13 If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love. Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, Doesn’t have a swelled head, Doesn’t force itself on others, Isn’t always “me first,” Doesn’t fly off the handle, Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, Doesn’t revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end.

(Withholding forgiveness is like taking poison and expecting the other person to get sick)
