Provision for the Impossible

So she did as Elijah said, and she and Elijah and her family continued to eat for many days. There was always enough flour and olive oil left in the containers, just as the LORD had promised through Elijah.

Obedient faith unlocks God’s miraculous provision.

Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come. 1 Timothy 4:8 NLT

God is always working to build our faith for what lies ahead. 

Some time later the woman’s son became sick. He grew worse and worse, and finally he died. 

I Kings 17:17 NLT 

God has a history of showing up for us at what without Him would only be a dead end. 

Impossible is an incredible place for an intimate encounter with Jesus!

She said to Elijah, “Man of God, what do you have against me? Have you come to call attention to my iniquity so that my son is put to death? ” I Kings 17:17-18 CSB

Soul searching with the Holy Spirit is the only way to live a surrendered life of faith.

Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth. Psalm 25:4 NKJV

If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself.2 Timothy 2:11-13 ESV

Our lives have many situations and needs that have no source or solution but the Savior. 

But Elijah replied, Give me your son. I Kings 17:19 NLT

And he took the child’s body from her arms, carried him up the stairs to the room where he was staying, and laid the body on his bed. Then Elijah cried out to the LORD, “O LORD my God, why have you brought tragedy to this widow who has opened her home to me, causing her son to die?” And he stretched himself out over the child three times and cried out to the LORD, “O LORD my God, please let this child’s life return to him.” The LORD heard Elijah’s prayer, and the life of the child returned, and he revived! I Kings 17:19-22 NLT

Then Elijah took the boy, brought him down from the upstairs room into the house, and gave him to his mother. Elijah said, “Look, your son is alive.” I Kings 17:23 CSB

God will resurrect what sin and death have destroyed and return them to us redeemed and restored. 

Then the woman said to Elijah, “Now I know you are a man of God and the LORD’s word from your mouth is true.” I Kings 17:24 CSB
