The Way of Courage and Compassion

Jesus was bold but not brash, He was meek but not weak! - He is the Lion & the Lamb.

As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd. “Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?” They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust. When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.” John 8:3-11 NLT

The Jesus Way is the way of Courage and Compassion.

Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence. Ephesians 3:12 NLT

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:16 NLT

When we really believe in who Jesus is we will courageously come to Him for help and healing!

"You cannot swim for new horizons, until you have courage to lose sight of the shore.”
William Faulkner

Choosing to come boldly will empower the choice to live boldly!

Since this new way gives us such confidence, we can be very bold. 2 Corinthians 3:12

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Matthew 5:5 ESV

We’re called to be courageous Christians who live and communicate truth compassionately.

I, Paul, myself entreat you, by the meekness and gentleness of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:1ESV

And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike. I am in chains now, still preaching this message as God’s ambassador. So pray that I will keep on speaking boldly for him, as I should. Ephesians 6:19-20 NLT

The more fearful we are, the more desperately arrogant we will act.

When we’re fearful or insecure we can’t handle being wrong, and rarely rightly handle being right.

If someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way. I Peter 3:14-15 NLT

The Jesus way of Courage and Compassion is what we called too and equipped for.
