January 6th - 26th
Join us for the first three weeks in January as we intentionally press into seeking God every day in prayer as we believe for Him to move in powerful ways. Prayer and fasting not only changes us, but it invites God to work with power to change our circumstances and communities. The greatest movements of God are started and sustained through the united prayers of God’s people.
How do you pray?
There is no special formula for prayer. Prayer is pouring your honest, surrendered heart out to God and seeking His answers to your struggles. It’s a conversation with Him! When asked by His disciples about prayer, Jesus responded with the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13).
“This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’"

And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’"
From this, Jesus’ response points out four key attributes of prayer:

PRAISE
Praise God for who He is and His attributes. Begin by giving Him your worship and adoration.

REPENT
Confess to God the things you have done in word, thought or deed which led you into sin. Confess and repent.

ASK
After you have spent time in praise and repentance, make your requests known to God by asking Him to provide your needs.

YIELD
God is always at work around you. Take time to notice when He invites you to join Him to become part of His mission.
Why are we fasting?
Fasting is a discipline that helps to shift our priorities. It puts Him first and allows us to hear His plan, receive His direction and His blessings. If you want success in your life, in your marriage, in your work—putting God first is the key.
When God is our first priority, He can use us to help others. God hears the cry of the oppressed and the unsaved. Jesus himself fasted on a regular basis in order to know how His Father was leading Him. In fact, Jesus' ministry began with His baptism by John then immediately He went into the desert for a 40 day fast. The words of Isaiah 58:6-14 give us insight into how significantly God views the power of fasting.

How to Prepare for 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting
1
Decide Why You Are Fasting
Start with a clear goal. Be specific. Why are you fasting? Do you need direction, healing, revival, restoration of marriage or family issues? Are you facing financial difficulties? Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance. Pray daily and read the Bible.
2
Preparing Spiritually
God cannot work in you and through you if your life is full of sin. Confess your sins to God. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas of weakness. Forgive all who have offended you and ask forgiveness from those you may have offended (Mark 11:25; Luke 11:4; 17:3-4). Surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ and reject the worldly desires that try to hinder you (Romans 12:1-2).
3
Decide The Type of Fast You Are Doing
You must choose what fast you will be doing. Whatever is distracting you from seeing God’s true vision and the life He has for you, this is a perfect time to set those things aside to focus on Him. Remember the practice of fasting means that you are replacing that time where you would be eating with prayer and Bible study.
4
Decide How Long Your Fast Will Last
You may fast as long as you like. Most can easily fast from one to three days, but you may feel the grace to go longer, even as much as 21 to 40 days. If you feel led to a complete fast, please see your personal physician before you attempt this type of fast. Going without food will affect your body. Use common sense, wisdom and pray for guidance. Beginners are advised to start slow.
